Long lost twin?

This photo ran in The Mag this week, in a story that was held from the week after Thanksgiving. I've been waiting for it to show up ever since then, because of this conversation on my return from Atlanta.
The Rock to Crislin: So apparently they've decided to hold the story.
Crislin: Oh ok.
The Rock to spacey Me: So that means your picture won't run this week.
Me to The Rock: blank stare
Crislin: Oh yeah, that's true. Well, next week.
Me to Crislin: blank stare
The Rock and Crislin: Hahaha.
Me to both: blank stare
Finally The Rock deigned to explain: We chose a photo with a woman who we all think looks like you to run with the story.
Me: Ohhhh. Ok. (trying to act nonchalant, but secretly dying to see this photo, convinced it's not going to be a flattering resemblance--or worse, someone that I think I look nothing like, but everyone else thinks is a carbon copy.)
The Rock: Of course, everytime someone says you (generic you) look like someone, you always think they look nothing like you.
Me: Yeah, I know. (now nervously) Hehe.
Since then, as soon as the weekly email plopped into my inbox saying that latest issue was in, I'd run to the library to page through the mag to see if the story was there, not even entirely sure what I was looking for--just a photo of someone who might look kinda, sorta like me. But no. Last week, an email came from The Rock with the PDF of the story (it took me a while to figure out which story the photo was running with, but I did, finally). PDF=photo! I immediately opened it, and there it was finally--the photo of my supposed twin, albeit a profile. And to be honest, although I've examined it from every angle, I can't even tell if she looks like me or not. Although, truth be told, I'm not entirely disappointed.
So? Does she? Doesn't she? Shocked at the uncanny resemblance? Or going "what?!?!? How could they even think that?" Or as confused as me?

Wow! This is so weird! just like you she has hair, eyes, a nose and a mouth, I am not sure if you have a red top like the one in the photo though?

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day! I don't know if she looks like you either, really, but- must be someone sure did.

I stopped a girl in a wedding. 'Hey Stop Mala'
The girl was shocked, she was with her dad. Looking silly and awkward I apologised. Found that her name is Kavitha, told her that My friend Mala looks just like her. Same height too. She was from out of town. I called my friend Mala and arranged a meeting with Kavita.
We became friends later. She is in US now, born on 4th of July.

Um.... you are both female... a good start. Both smiley. Similar ethnic background, I assume. But the eyes, nose, and mouth (and, as Martin notes, the red top) throw it off.

They say we all have an identical (possibly evil?) twin somewhere in the world. When I was a teen at boarding school in UK, I was told many times about someone who looked just like me in a nearby town. I never met her, but I was always curious.

Hahaha the word verification on this comment is "unewed" ... "you newed" ... "a new you"??? get it???? :-)

Yes. . . the hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ethnic background, even a red top, are all similarities. . . in that we both have them. But maybe they don't look the same. And anyway, Caveboy has confirmed that she does NOT look like me, in no uncertain terms. And I don't dare argue with that!

aw c'mon ... she does look something like you, and it's not just the fact that you're both from the same part of the globe. you have similar-length hair and not dissimilar features ... but of course, that's always a matter of opinion ... and it's also true that whenever someone says you look like someone else, you never agree ... but of course, I already said that, didn't I?

Cheers,
The Rock
