Daytrip to Kamakura
Okia and I headed to Kamakura on Saturday for the day. We'd been hoping that the weather, which has been unusually warm for this time of year, would have cooled by then, but no such luck (as you can see from the photos). The highlight of the trip was definitely the really cool bamboo forest (home of the zen Hokokuji Temple, where I also got my first taste of Matcha Tea (not a fan of any tea, green tea included, but was still a worthwhile experience. . . it's thicker and more bitter than regular green tea!) And of course, the beach!!!

That bamboo forest pics are amazing, such straight stems... or are they trunks? Another lovely day out! You are becoming quite a well-travelled tour giude.
Dude. Are you eating enough? You're disappearing!!! EAt some sushi. I hear Japan has decent sushi. :) Cav.
That forest photo with the sun coming through the leaves, the one just above the beach shots, is fabulous! Great angle and symmetry.
Ex-shammie, Outlaw, thanks! There's just something totally fascinating about bamboo isn't there? I think another trip there will definitely happen!
Caveboy, you know what?!?!? I've heard the same thing!! How crazy is that?!?!? Guess I should try it sometime huh? :P (and you made my day with that comment!) Hope moving plans are going well. . . can I announce to the world (well, my blog world anyway) what a fabulous human being you are now?!?!?
Inihtar-san,

Hi Ini,
Sorry for taking my time replying, but internet access hasn't been particularly easy this past week or so. Well, I've finally made it back home (hopefully I'll get the post written up tomorrow) in one piece. I'm not sure whether the reality of it has sunken in yet. I am, however, very much looking forward to a domestic life and a bit of routine and possibly seeing the same people for more than a week at a time, and possibly even having some sort of relationship. As for what I'm going to do, well the very first thing I will do tomorrow is to sign myself up for the dole! and then possibly look for some sort of a job (you don't know of any vacancies anywhere by any chance?).
But one thing is for certain, the blog will continue, though what form it will take from now on I'm not so sure, I'll have to wait and see.
Diraado-san! I am indeed! And I think you're due for a visit back here soon!
Martin, thank you! And didn't anyone tell you? You're SUPPOSED to smile in pictures!! And your joke. . . hilarious as always!!!:)
Erik, welcome back (I guess I can't really say that coz I'm not there. . . but you know what I mean!) I'm sure being back will take some getting used to but it should be a nice change! And applying for dole is a good first step! Looking forward to the new adventures!
